One Evening

Lowering the glass I looked at the world,
In the chaos of pollution and noise,
My eyes stuck at the abandoned structure.
Fallen bricks and faded colors were all that is left,
Roots breaking through the windows,
Weeds grown on the once fresh garden,
Debris dumped against its will,
I could feel the edifice wanted to live again.
When my companion was asked to take a look,
"It's an old house" the human blurted irritated.
But I could vision a forgotten dream of someone,
Once filled with happy souls and grand events,
Sheltering both the newborn and the old man,
The gardens filled with aromatic plants,
The gates almost welcomed everyone.
As the car passed through the haunted place, I took a last glimpse of it,
Thinking the house and I share the same destiny.
